SMP for Scars

Hair transplant scar camouflage by SkalpX Milwaukee

A linear FUT scar, scattered FUE dots, surgical or burn scarring: all visible the moment hair gets short. SMP makes them disappear.

Hair-transplant scars (linear FUT strips across the back of the head, scattered FUE dots), surgical scars and burn scarring all show up the moment hair gets short. Pigment fills the scar tissue with matching tone so it reads as scalp rather than injury.

Scar camouflage is one of the most technically demanding SMP treatments and one of the most life-changing. Alex has worked on transplant scar cases from across the Midwest. Each scar tissue type takes pigment differently (keloid, hypertrophic, atrophic), and the needle depth and pigment load are tuned per case.

Most scars are camouflaged in two to three sessions. Once they're done, you can wear your hair as short as you want without thinking twice about it.

Why SkalpX Milwaukee

Why scar cases come to Alex.

Every kind of scar

Linear FUT strip-graft scars, scattered FUE dots, surgical scars, burns, and traction-related scarring. If pigment will take, it can be camouflaged.

Pigment matched to scalp and hair

Tone is matched both to your skin and to the surrounding follicle pigmentation so the treated zone reads as continuous scalp.

Adjusted technique per scar tissue

Keloid, hypertrophic and atrophic scars all behave differently under the needle. Each case gets its own depth, pigment, and number of passes.

Wear your hair however short you want

The end result holds up under a #1 buzz. You stop having to plan haircuts around hiding the scar.

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers, no marketing fluff.

Can SMP fully hide a linear FUT transplant scar?

In most cases yes. A linear strip-graft scar takes pigment well, and once it's filled, the line reads as scalp instead of a visible mark. Some very wide or raised scars need an additional session, but the result is consistently dramatic.

How short can I shave my head after scar camouflage?

Down to a #1 or #0 buzz in most cases. Once the pigment has healed and the scar is camouflaged, you can shave as close as you like. We design the treatment with this in mind from session one.

Will the pigment stay in keloid or raised scar tissue?

Keloid and raised tissue retain pigment differently, usually with lower retention than flat skin. Alex adjusts needle depth and pigment load for these cases, and often plans an extra session to lock in the result.

How many sessions does scar camouflage take?

Most scar cases are done in two to three sessions, two to three weeks apart. Larger or more complex scar networks can take an extra session.

Will the camouflaged scar look natural up close?

Yes. When the pigment is matched and placed correctly, the scar disappears into the surrounding scalp. Even at conversational distance, people can't pick it out.
